The Project Connect Conference Directory has been compiled to help you sort through, compare, and find the perfect conference to attend.

CANADIAN HIGH SCHOOLS MODEL UNITED NATIONS

The Canadian High Schools Model United Nations Conference (CAHSMUN) is the largest high school Model United Nations conference of its kind in Western Canada. Taking place over three days in early March each year at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel, CAHSMUN attracts experienced and new Model UN participants from high schools all across the Lower Mainland and other parts of North America. CAHSMUN seeks to increase awareness in global issues amongst students whilst promoting the spirit of the United Nations. It offers the opportunity to hone public speaking and negotiation skills while giving delegates opportunities to interact through social events.

CONNECT MODEL UNITED NATIONS

Connect Model United Nations welcomes secondary school students for three days each November to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Downtown Vancouver. It runs under the nonprofit organization Connect Global Youth Association, and partners with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Delegates with any level of MUN experience are welcome, and the committees ranging from Beginner to Advanced Tiers are renowned for their unparalleled debate quality. The conference offers relatively uncommon committees in addition to the old classics, support for first-time and veteran delegates and everyone in between, as well as exceptional value with delegate fees starting from $55. With small committee sizes and various uniquely engaging activities, ConnectMUN is also known for delivering superb overall conference experience.

SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY MODEL UNITED NATIONS

SFUMUN (Simon Fraser University Model United Nations) is one of two major university-level MUNs in Vancouver. The conference takes place every year around February at SFU's campuses in Downtown Vancouver. The conference lasts for three full days and attracts mainly university students, but also some from nearby high-schools. As the name suggests, SFUMUN is organised by students at Simon Fraser University. One of the unique features about SFUMUN is its "pre-program" - an optional two-day program before the conference that allows participants to experience the world of politics in real life through e.g., visits to the provincial parliament in Victoria.

TRINITY WESTERN UNIVERSITY MODEL UNITED NATIONS

Since 1999, the Trinity Western University Model United Nations conference has been a student-led simulation of the United Nations, serving high school students of the Lower Mainland. TWUMUN occurs annually at the Langley campus as a project of the Foreign Affairs Society. Over a two-day conference, TWUMUN provides an excellent opportunity for high school students to use and refine skills in public speaking, leadership, and diplomacy. Delegates represent member states of the United Nations and international NGOs.

UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA MODEL UNITED NATIONS

The University of British Columbia Model United Nations (UBCMUN) assembly is the largest collegiate-level Model United Nations conference in Western Canada, hosted each year by the International Relations Student Association at UBC. UBCMUN is proud to bring you innovative committees and topics each year as well as the International Press Corps and Delegate Speech Competition that will challenge and excite the most experienced MUN delegates. The conference is attended by university students and some high school students, and takes place over three days in January at the Coast Plaza Hotel located in the West End of Downtown Vancouver.

UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA MODEL UNITED NATIONS

The University of Victoria Model United Nations (VicMUN) Conference is the largest Model United Nations Conference held on Vancouver Island. VicMUN is a three-day conference for high school students where we focus on developing international diplomacy skills; current issues are discussed and unique committees from the UN play an active role in providing support and research for our Model UN simulations. Delegates will connect at the University of Victoria, in Victoria, BC in fall each year to discuss current global concerns on international security and humanitarian aid.

VANCOUVER MODEL UNITED NATIONS

Vancouver Model United Nations (VMUN) hosts a three-day conference at a downtown Vancouver hotel for around 300 high-school youth each year in January. VMUN is affiliated with St. George's School, though its Secretariat, staff, and delegates include students from all over British Columbia. In recent years, VMUN has committed itself to an increased diversity of youth, attracting delegations from Alberta, Washington State, and even further abroad. VMUN prides itself on being a conference organized by youth for youth, while maintaining a reputation as a high-quality conference attended by some of the strongest debaters and public speakers in Western Canada.
